A recent study published in the Nutrients journal found that, a low glucose eating pattern improves biomarkers of post-c breast cancer risk in women.

The study included 50 women with high risk of post menopause breast cancer. The participants were following low glucose eating patterns (LGEP), which is defined as consuming energy when glucose levels are at or below average fasting levels.

The results showed improvement in insulin resistance for at least 40% of women following LGEP. Other cancer related serum biomarker changes were observed which showed to favourably modify benign breast tissue in women who were over-weight, obese and are at high risk for post-menopausal breast cancer.

Thus, the results support the potential efficacy of a low-glucose eating pattern (LGEP) to improve metabolic and cancer risk biomarkers, including insulin resistance.
