COVID Vaccine Found Safe For Pregnant Women
A new study suggests that COVID-19 vaccines should be given to pregnant women as it has been found to be safe for both the mother and her baby.
This study included more than 35,000 people, between the ages of 16 to 54 years old, of which almost 4,000 were pregnant women. The data was collected through an app that tracks people’s health after vaccination, the participants of the study self-reported their side effects on the app.
There were no major differences in side effects between pregnant and non-pregnant women. However, pregnant women had a slightly higher rate of nausea, vomiting, and injection-site pain. But on the other hand, a lower rate of fever, chills, muscle aches, and headaches were observed among pregnant women.
Throughout this pandemic it has been observed that pregnant women are suffering from more severe forms of the disease and have a higher mortality rate compared to other population groups when infected. Timely vaccination can prevent this from occurring and even confer protection to the baby through passive immunity.
According to this study, the benefits of vaccination outweigh any potential risks and is considered safe for pregnant women and their babies.
Although we do not have enough studies to conclude the safety of vaccination in pregnant women, TALK TO YOU DOCTOR TODAY AND GET VACCINATED AS THE BENEFITS OUTWEIGH THE RISKS.
