Some of them were diagnosed with more than one type of cancer. Monthly rate of breakthrough COVID-19 infection was monitored, and it was observed that the rate was higher in people with cancer than in people without cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Significant rate differences among the two groups showed that COVID infection was more likely because of cancer diagnosis rather than just by chance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These findings suggest that people with cancer diagnosis who are being actively treated had higher risk of breakthrough infection than in people who have completed their treatment or in people without cancer. Higher risk was seen in people diagnosed with: breast cancer, hematologic cancer, colorectal cancer, bladder cancer and pancreatic cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People with the risk of breakthrough infection should be vigilant and continue to take COVID-19 precautions for safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Source: Vaccinated People Diagnosed With Cancer Have Higher Risk of Breakthrough COVID-19 Infection.
